Teaching the World to Play!
At the age of three, after a few informal piano lessons, Lucy Wilde Warren announced to her mother that a train passing their home was whistling an “F.” Two years after the discovery of her absolute pitch, Lucy gave her first public concert in her hometown of Savannah, Georgia, playing a program of Bach and Mozart. Many lessons and concerts later, Lucy appeared as youth soloist with the Savannah Symphony Orchestra at the age of thirteen, performing Mendelssohn’s G Minor Concerto.
Mrs. Warren received a Bachelor’s degree in piano performance and a Master’s degree in piano performance and a Master’s degree in music theory and composition from Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She is certified in Suzuki piano methods over the last 25 years. She has been affiliated with Converse College and Limestone College, and has maintained her own private piano studio working with students of all ages and abilities. Lucy has also frequently served as an adjudicator for MTNA and National Federation of Music Club events.
Lucy currently lives in Orlando, Florida with her husband and two sons. She teaches piano at Rollins College, and enjoys composing and editing for The FJH Music Company.
