Al Kiger
(1923 - 2013)Al Kiger – internationally recognized jazz composer, arranger, and trumpet player - has written and performed with numerous well-known artists including Henry Mancini, Andy Williams, Johnny Mathis, Al Cobine, and most recently, the Blue Wisp Big Band of John Von Ohlen in Cincinnati. From Muncie, Indiana, Al studied trumpet with E.W. Garrett, Inez Sargent, Max Woodbury, Clifford Lillya, and William Adam. He received his education at the University of Michigan, Ball State University, Indiana University, and the School of Jazz in Lenox, Massachusetts where he studied and recorded with George Russell and later with John Lewis.
