Matthew Joy holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music and a Master of Arts degree, with specialization in Jazz Studies, from Middle Tennessee State University. Matthew is an adjunct professor of music at Florida Atlantic University teaching guitar, commercial music and jazz guitar ensembles. He also works as a freelance writer, editor, composer and arranger for the FJH Music Company’s guitar pedagogy selections.

He has recorded and performed for decades with various groups in Boston, New York, Nashville and South Florida, as well as touring Canada, the U.K. and Europe. Matthew currently lives in South Florida performing and recording original compositions and arrangements regularly with his trio and quintet.
